A Little Life Update

It’s been a while since my last blog entry and quite a bit since I’ve paid much attention to my blog, which I really shouldn’t admit but I think it’s needed before I commit to posting the rest of my scheduled blog posts.

You may have noticed; I moved to London recently. I’m sitting down to write this exactly two weeks since I made a move and so far it’s been the best time I’ve had in a very long while. I’ve lived like a tourist, and I’ve been fortunate to find a job with people who I can vibe with.

It’s been the perfect chance for me to live my “small-town girl in the big city dream’- ignoring the fact that the world is burning, I think its important to be able to say you’ve made the most of every second that you’ve got and I’d like to think I am. I’ve been in London for two weeks, and despite going out to new places daily, I’ve barely made a chip in what this city has to offer. London itself feels like a small island; it’s endless and full of little secret spots jam-packed between tourist destinations. I could spend my whole life here without knowing my way around on foot, and that’s quite fabulous.

For example, the day before I started work at my new job me and my housemate decided to take a trip to the Sky Garden. Despite standing tall next to the shard in East Central London, I feel like not many people know about it. But the tickets were free, and Winter hadn’t fully set in yet, so It felt like one of our last opportunities to make the most of the searing heat. The trip itself was terrific, but it was the journey there that made the day for me.

Whilst waiting for our time slot, we decided to go for a little wonder around the area and see what we could find. Let me tell you were not disappointed. We stumbled a St-Dunstan church. A completely bombed-out church in the heart of the city that looked like the garden of Eden. People were having their lunch surrounded by wildflowers and crumbling brick and mortar and even a small wedding photoshoot. I’ll put some pictures in below for you to look through, it’s worth a visit!

But yes, I love London. It feels like the whole place has this rose-tinted hue to it that makes you feel like you’re always on holiday. It’s euphoric. I’ve lived in a few different places in the past 22-years on this earth. I’ve always got bored relatively quickly and gone off searching for something new.

I think Birmingham wad the closest I got to this sensation. I’d lived just a short train ride away from the place my whole life, and I’d barely scratched the surface of what it had to offer. Unlike a few of the other sites, I think it will always hold a place in my heart, but it still was not enough.

This move to London was out the blue, but I do not regret it. I’ve got caught up in the swing of things these past two weeks, but it’s been magical. Unfortunately, It does mean that I have seriously neglected this blog. I feel more settled in now and perhaps a bit more ready to get back to my writing.

This blog has always been my creative outlet, I don’t want to lose that, but I also don’t want to get to the point where it feels like a chore. I’m not at that point yet, but I think it’s important to remember my original biography for this blog. “I write whatever I want, as long as it’s good”.

So although you may not have felt my absence over this time, I am ready to return to business as usual. It'll contain stuff about my bullet journals, book reviews, marketing blogs, and some other stuff. It’s nothing glamourous, but damn is it worth the read. If you haven’t already, subscribe to my mailing list and I’ll pop yo’ll pop you a message every time I have something new come up!
