Reasons Why You Should Visit Bubbleology

I feel like over the past five or so years, we’ve seen Bubble tea or Boba tea skyrocket in popularity. It’s not just a popular food and drinks combo; it is arguably the epitome of cute aesthetics.

I think bubble tea is an absolute genius. Back when I worked in the heart of Birmingham, I would routinely sprint over to Bubbleology to get a Pink Pitaya and stare in awe at the fancy Utopian teas on display. It was my little payday treat, but I must admit I’d go there more than once a month if work were a bit hectic!

So to sit and write a blog promoting them as a company is an absolute honour. I hope I do them justice.

So what is Bubble Tea?

Bubble tea originates from Taiwan, and it’s still where the beverage is most famous- despite the global surge in popularity over the past thirty years.

‘Bubble tea’ has so much variety to it as well, there is a wide variety of refreshing flavoured fruit teas, and milk teas served ice cold or piping hot with chewy tapioca balls that you suck up through a big fat straw! It’s a drink and a snack in one. The tapioca balls are sometimes referred to as ‘Pearls’ or ‘Boba’. However, as its popularity grew in the west, this has now evolved into the word ‘Bubble’.

The true origin of the name comes from the small floating bubbles that are created by the vigorous shaking involved in making bubble tea.

So, why visit Bubleology?

100% Able to accommodate for dietary requirements

There are so many ways to customise your drink at bubbleology. Staff are well versed in the nutritional information that comes with each drink on the menu. So rest assured that you’ll be able to find a flavour combination that still tastes yummy and fits for dietary needs!

Ethically Conscious

Bubbleology believes that social responsibility should be at the forefront of their company and brand. This is why they are massive supporters of the Drop4Drop foundation. Here’s a bit about their work with the charity:

“We have taken many steps to give back to the wider community, with an ongoing programme to build freshwater wells for those less fortunate, as well as working with charitable organisations. None of this could be achieved without the ongoing support of our loyal customers – together, we are improving the lives of others in need.”

Staff are lovely and more than happy to walk you through the flavours.

I hadn’t visited Bubbleology since lockdown hit, and I could not for the life of me remember what flavour drink I used to pick up. I was also keenly aware that I would be using that drink in all my photos for this very blog post. So I was keenly aware that my choice of beverage was pretty important here.

The staff were so kind and happy to walk me through all my options, she asked me what flavours I thought I might like and if I remembered the colour of my last order way back in March. I also mentioned to her that I would be using the drink for a mini photoshoot around the city centre, and it was so lovely to sit and chat through my options.

I think as businesses reopen, this careful attitude with customers is so important! We all have a little bit of social anxiety about going back out into the world, so when staff are willing to sit and calmly walk through the many options.

There are so many flavours!

That's another thing; there are so many flavours available to you during your visit. But you can also mix and match if you’re feeling like a rebel.

Staff are also happy to talk through this with you!

I don’t want to sound dramatic, but I think bubble tea is the epitome of an Instagrammable beverage; so if you’re feeling thirsty or looking to brighten up your IG feed, visit them!
